The funding for this department comes from Human Resources Development Canada, and is delivered to this Nation through an
AHRDA (Aboriginal Human Resources Development Agreement) with the First Nations Employment Society. This program is available to
Aboriginal people and their families living on Reserve and within the following areas: Tsawwassen, Ladner, South Richmond, parts of Surrey
and White Rock.

  • The TFN Employment Centre can help you with your search for employment, put together a professional resume with a cover letter, and
    answer any questions ro concerns you may have. We are here to provide employment counselling, resume preparation, interview coaching and job referrals.
  • There is a computer room, which is Internet capable, for community members to use for employment opportunities online. A phone and fax machine are also available
    so clients may send their resumes to prospective employers.
  • Assistance with career exploration and setting up personal and/or employment related workshops can be provided for you.
  • A trageted wage subsidy could also be available for those who qualify. A targeted wage subsidy is a grant that can be obtained for the use of hiring an
    individual to work within your business over a specific length of time.
  • Action plans are to be completed for those who are obtaining our services. An action plan outlines an agreement between you and the TFN Employment Centre
    to work together in order to help you find a job.
  • The funding for training that can lead to employment may be obtained to those who qualify.
